Winter storm warning in effect from 6 am Tuesday to 7 am est wednesday,
The NWS in pittsburgh has issued a winter storm warning for freezing rain and sleet, which is in effect from 6 am Tuesday to 7 am est Wednesday. The winter weather advisory is no longer in effect.
A northward moving winter storm will bring a mixture of wintry precipitation to garrett county by dawn Tuesday. The mix will continue through Tuesday but freezing rain is expected to become the prevailing precipitation type by Tuesday afternoon. Ice accumulation in excess of a quarter inch is expected.
A winter storm warning for freezing rain and sleet means that a winter storm system is expected to impact the area with significant amounts of ice accumulation. Travel is likely to be severely impacted.
