A winter weather advisory remains in effect for a mixture of freezing rain and sleet from 6 am Tuesday to 9 am est Wednesday.
High pressure centered over Pennsylvania will be tracking across new jersey on Tuesday. At the same time low pressure will be moving northeast from the Tennessee valley. This low will draw moisture into the mid atlantic. With subfreezing air in place at the surface, wintry precipitation in the form of sleet and freezing rain is expected Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
By the time the storm exits the region late Wednesday up to two tenths of an inch of ice are possible in the advisory area.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of freezing rain or sleet will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
